What Causes Heavy Bleeding In Pregnancy?

small clot will not cause much problems
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting health care magic.
I'm sorry to hear that and can see your anxiety related to the same.
The bleeding you had was because of separation of the layer of conceptus from its attachment with the uterus.
This separation leads to the opening of blood vessels present in uterus which this lead to bleeding.
Most of the blood comes out, but at times body tries to save the baby and seal the area of tear leading to entrapment of blood in between uterus and layers of baby.
This retained blood if small is most of the times harmless and is eventually absorbed by body but if large can cause problems later.
This clot can at times initiate another bout of bleeding and at times no problem at all in whole pregnancy, but which possibility is going to be applicable in which pregnancy can't be predicted with surety.
So in your case as the bleeding has stopped and clot is small, I think things are under control.
Take adequate rest and avoid contact with husband and avoid exertion of any kind.
Take care and wish you the best of health.
