default
Posted on Sat, 3 Jun 2017
Question: I have horrible menstral pain and lengthy periods since I got my tubes tied. But my last three periods my Dr stopped with med after 20+ days each. Bleeding through super tampons in an hour or two. The last two months I've been extremely nasseus and I've lost 22 pounds in that time and the sickness has increased last week there were four days straight I couldn't even smell food without vomiting bile. I think my Dr is missing something or needs to run some kind of test?

Brief Answer:
Other pathological comditions should be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Heavy menstrual bleeding, irregular bleeding and pain during periods is common after tying of tubes and is known as post sterilization syndrome.
However, other causes like pelvic infection, fibroids, adenomyosis and endometrial or uterine lining pathologies should also be ruled out.
A detailed internal examination, ultrasound of the pelvis and if required, then endometrial biopsy should be done to confirm the diagnosis and further treatment should be done accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
