Question: I had my first delivery in C-section on six months ago and I got my regular periods after 3 months of delivery. but the flow is very heavy. Now I am on my third period after delivery. still I am bleeding very heavy. doctor gave me meprate tablets. why I am bleeding heavily? what will meprate tablet do? I dint have intercourse after delivery. Shall I have intercourse after my periods while taking meprate tablets?

Thanks for the query to HCM,
Ideally meprate should not be given as its a progesterone and you have come out of high progestogenic state already now, the pregnancy. So you should be opting for antifibrinolytics like tab tranexamic acid 500mg thrice a day for 3-5 days. This shall help you reduce your menstrual bleed.
It is likely to experience heavy bleed with meprate. So you may discuss with your gynecologist again and consider antifibrinolytics instead. You may have intercourse after the bleeding stops but practice protected intercourse.
