What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After A C Section?
Question: My wife had c section on 20 th october... today its been 40 days but still her vaginal bleeding is not yet stopped. In this 40 days in between once bleeding was compltly stopped. But after 2 days c had vry slight bleeding then again after 7 days nothing was there. Yesterday she again had very slight bleeding and today there is more bleeding but little less compared to normal bleeding. Just wondering when it will get stopped completly, bleeding not being continious or even aftr 40 days not stopped are symptoms of any complications..?

1) Heavy bleeding should have stopped by now except for little bit of spotting.
2) But since you mention that there is heavy bleeding even at 40 days, this needs to be evaluated by ultrasound scan to see if there is any small placental tissue left behind.
3) If there is small placental tissue left behind, it causes bleeding like this. Therefore this needs to be ruled out.
4) If no placental tissue is found, your doctor will give you medicines to stop the bleeding.
