What Causes Hemorrhoid After Taking Clomipramine?

Question: I'm taking 5mg clomipramine oral daily.

I was wondering if their could be a interaction with this and Preparation H. I have a hemorrhoid that's bothering me and would like some relief.. but on drugs.com it says it's bad to take both together because Preparation H has Phenylephrine in it.

It's my understanding that Preparation H is a topical medicine so the likelyhood of a interaction is lower but I just wanted to check.

The Preparation H has the following active ingredients:
Glycerin: 14.4%
Phenylephrine HCI: 0.25%
Pramoxine HCI: 1%
White Petrolatum: 15%

There is negligible possibility of interaction between Clomipramine 5 mg and topical Preparation H. Yes, they do have a serious drug interaction when taken orally.

Also, Clomipramine 5 mg is a very minimal dose for any drug interaction.

You can use the topical preparation H for hemorrhoids and can safely take oral clomipramine.
