What Causes High BP And Lower Left Leg Pain At Night?

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that as the Doppler ultrasound has excluded possible peripheral arteriopathy or venous insufficiency.
Coming to this point, it is important excluding possible radicular pain, resulting from a herniated disk in the lumbar spinal column or chronic degeneration in this region of the spinal column leading to spinal canal stenosis.
I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam, a lumbar column X ray study and a nerve conduction study of the lower limbs.
A lumbar CT scan or MRI may be needed to establish the diagnosis.
Regarding your blood pressure, I would explain that these values are above the normal ranges.
I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests:
- a resting ECG
- chest X ray study
- lab blood tests (complete blood count, thyroid hormone levels, fasting glucose, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests, blood lipid profile) to exclude other secondary causes of high blood pressure.
You may need to start antihypertensive therapy.
Some lifestyle modifications ( low salt and caffeine intake, a lot of physical activity, lose weight if you are overweight, avoid smoking) would help reduce your blood pressure.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes,
Dr. Iliri
