What Causes High BP And Sleeplessness With History Of Cardiac Arrest?

Question: My father is 65 year old man and he use to take Cardace(drug : Ramipril 2.5 mg) and Depin Retard each pills two times a day as he is a patient of High BP.
For the last two three days he is not getting sound sleep , wake up with saliva out of his mouth ,feeling a bit cold in the night and had a bit of chest pain day before yesterday.
I just landed up at my hometown today and monitored his blood pressure by knowing this , it was.
Systolic : 153 mm Hg.
Diastolic : 101 mm Hg
Please recommend as if what could be done as I do have history of cardiac arrest(all my paternal uncles and Grandpa's died of same reason).Do let me know if any test is required(Cholesterol, HDL,LDLor anything is required to get the exact cause). I want my father to live longer..please do help..

Brief Answer:
Hypertension in an elderly
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Your father's blood pressure is yet to come under control.Diastolic Blood pressure(DBP) should be equal to or lower than 90 mm hg (target DBP).A small dose of diuretic like indapamide (Natrilix SR 1.5 mg daily orally),in addition may help.
You can repeat his ECG as he had episode of chest pain.
Serum lipid profile ,Blood sugar fasting & post-prandial,serum creatinine & serum electrolytes ,serum T3,T4,TSH can be done or repeated ,if done earlier.
See a physician with all these reports.
