Brief Answer:
Observation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Hypertension in pregnancy can be extremely life threatening and have severe complications.

2) You need to get blood tests done to check effect of BP.

3) Be under close observation of your gynecologist. Get blood pressure checked everyday once in the morning and evening.

4) Any increase in blood pressure requires antihypertensive medicines.

5) Goal is to continue pregnancy safely upto 37 weeks after which baby can be delivered if blood pressure becomes more.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

140/90 bp- is this a matter of serious concern. My doctor had asked me to get RBS done today. My Gyn is out of town and i was thinking to wait till sat to meet her. will that be ok? Also, Labetalol 100mg is not available in the pharmacies. can you recommend any other medicine pls?

Brief Answer:
Check

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Get blood pressure checked twice a day in a hospital near your house. You can see your doctor on Saturday.

Labetalol is not necessary as of now. You can observe if BP shoots above present level.

There is no replacement. Try to get this drug only.

Thank You,

1. Any suggestions to keep my BP in control, like diet etc. I feel hungry most of the times.

2. Also, what should i do if my BP levels shoot up more than 140/90?

Brief Answer:
Diet

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is preferable to have low salt diet.

If BP shoots above 140/90 you need to start medicines prescribed by your doctor.

Get blood test done after meeting your doctor
