What Causes High WBC Count In Urine?
You should consult a physician.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
It would be better If you had attached the report of your test ,so I would be more clear about the significance of these results.
I will try to explain the meaning of all the findings in your test result :
1)The presence of high White Blood Cells count (Leukocytes ) in urine means that there is inflammation in the urinary tract or kidneys. The most common cause for WBCs in urine is a bacterial urinary tract infection (UTI), such as a bladder or kidney infection.
2)Increased serum anion gap reflects the presence of unmeasured anions,as in : Ketoacidosis (diabetic, alcoholic, starvation)
Renal failure (accumulation of organic acids, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid)
Lactic acidosis
Treatment with substances that are unmeasured anions , e.g. carbenicillin, penicillin..
3)Leukocyte esterase shows leukocytes ( white blood cells [WBCs] Click here to see more information.) in the urine. WBCs in the urine may mean a UTI is present.
4)Some types of kidney disease can cause plugs of material (called casts) to form in tiny tubes in the kidneys. The casts then get flushed out in the urine. Casts can be made of red or white blood cells, waxy or fatty substances, or protein. The type of cast in the urine can help show what type of kidney disease may be present.
Hyaline casts can be present in low numbers (0-1/LPF) in concentrated urine of otherwise normal patients and are not always associated with renal disease.
Greater numbers of hyaline casts may be seen in association with proteinuria of renal (e.g., glomerular disease) or extra-renal (e.g., overflow proteinuria as in myeloma) origin
From your tests result is clear that you have a problem with your urinary tract that need further evaluation.
It might be an infection of urinary tract or a kidney disease.
You may need to repeat the tests and probably test your kidney function (blood creatinine,BUN,BUN/Creatinin ration),kidney ultrasound .
I would suggest to consult a physician and get examined.
Hope my answer has helped.
Let me know if you have any further question or doubt to clarify.I will be happy to help.
Take care.
