What Causes High Blood Sugar Level?
Question: My blood sugar has been running extremely high the past few months ranging between 400-600 glucose level. My fasting glucose this morning was 512. My doctor has my taking Lantus before bed starting at 50 units and adding a unit every day it's over 200. I used 90 units last night. She also has me taking 5 units of Novalog before eating. I watch my diet especially with carbs, starch and sugar. I don't know what's going on but I need to get my sugar down so I can have surgery next month. Can you please help me? Thank you.
Brief Answer:
VICTOZA IS A GOOD OPTION
Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your medical history. From your last query few days back, I noted that your weight is on the higher side which can lead to insulin resistance. In addition to your current insulin regimen, you may also require Januvia/Metformin which will be helpful to reduce blood sugar levels. Other option is to add VICTOZA. This will also help to reduce weight.
What kind of surgery are you planning next month?
