What Causes High Heart Rate And BP?
If all investigation normal don't worry. It's part of normal recovery
Detailed Answer:
Hello , I am Dr Mody and I would be addressing your concern.
Now let me explain, Asd is hole between you right and left upper chambers, so here when your left chamber pumps blood in the circulation some part will leak in the right. After closure of the hole, all blood will effectively go in the circulation as there is no leak. So you will have higher blood pressure than before. It's physiological. In most patients as the extra fluid is blood is flushed off this will settle by 3 months.
Also in asd there is dilation of right upper chamber s the reason why sometime s there might be misfire in the circuits of the heart leading to increased heart rate.
Metoprolol is a good medication to control the samw and you may increase the dose as required according to your doctor.
If any acute thing started just after closure, do visit your doctor for a review. Otherwise a routine 2 d echo cardiography after 3 months will let us know the exact position and recovery of the right heart dimensions.
It's normal to feel do and after all the test you have done if normal don't worry about the same.
Let me know if any clarification needed.
Regards Dr Priyank Mody
Thanks

All reports attached seems to be in normal range. Be reassured
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I did go through your reports.
The ash device seems to be working good, also as I said Right heart is slightly dilated even post device. However to assure you that it's function is completely normal. Now complete range rv coming back to normal might not happen as asd was closed when you were 30, so for so many years it was overload, however to tell it has NO clinical significance and it is not going to shorten your life for even a day you are destined to.
Generally aspirin / clopidogrel is continued for 6 months r to a year maximum, till endothelisation of the device occur, to help you understand a endothelial skin will form over the device and than it will be part of your body for ever.
Now for your blood pressure, and pulse.
Holter showed that even when you had the episode it was sinus rhythm and pulse was 105, till 100 it's normal pulse and when you exercise or exert, even in normal human of your age the pulse will go till 130-140, which is perfectly ok.
Let me know your blood pressure tracking if you had one.
Trust me XXXXXXX there is nothing wrong with your pulse or blood pressure, you are a healthy young guy.
Metoprolol can too be slowly tapered off occurring to your symptoms.
Cilpar LA 20 mg once a day , similar drug but helping in decreasing peripheral effects of palipation, may be tried.
If you still feel your pulse rate shoot up infrequently a event recorder can be used to transmit the reading during such episode.
However it's need is not what I think is valid medically.
