What Causes High Heart Rate When I Am Anxious?
Racing heart can be seen in severe anxiety
Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Anxiety is nothing but unpleasant state of inner restlessness which usually occur due to some anticipated events or some times without any reason. If we go in some more medical details then in anxiety individuals body secretes nor-adrenaline which is a neurotransmitter. The neurotransmitter is thought to be responsible for fight-flight response of body.
The neurotransmitter results in increased heart rate apart from other sympathetic responses like tremors, sweating, unknown fear, slurred voice, chocking sensation in neck etc. The heart rate in anxiety can go even up to 180 BPM. So even if you have racing heart even then you are not at all at risk of any cardiac illness.
Your heart tests with cardiologist came normal so as per my opinion no need to fear. Occasional PACS can be seen in anxiety also and should be ignored completely.
So please don't get stressed and remain relaxed. You are absolutely normal.
Thanks, I hope this helps you. Please feel free to ask a follow up if you have more doubts. Take care
