What Causes High Liver Enzymes?
Question: I was told by my dr my liver enzymes are high. could this be from the meds I take zolft and tramadol
Brief Answer:
Zoloft can increase liver enzymes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Zoloft (Sertraline) is selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor(SSRI) and it can increase liver enzymes mostly serum aminotransferase. But most individuals have asymptomatic aminotransferase rise. You can discuss about this doctor and he/she may reduce the dosage of medication or switch over to other ssri medication.
Tramadol in heavy doses can cause mild elevation of liver enzymes without causing any clinical symptoms. Over doses can cause liver injury.
