What Causes Hip Pain And Swollen Ankle Post Injury?
Question: I fell last Wednesday afternoon and since this fall I have burning shooting pain in my right hip. My right ankle is very swollen and movement is very limited. I hoped with hot and cold treatment that the pain would subside but it seems to only be getting worse. I can't sleep and laying down is difficult for very long. I also have bruising surrounding the hip area but I didn't fall on my hip itself. I actually connected with the concrete with my left knee. I have no idea what to do or who to see. Clearly this is more serious than a bruised hip because the burning pain goes down my leg constantly. my right foot keeps losing feeling. Very hard to walk about on a numb foot. Any suggestions on what I need to do? No family doctor, out of town. Need help before I fall again. Thank you so much!
Brief Answer:
Attend to ER.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The symptoms that you have are likely to be due to a bone injury. You need to attend an ER and get an X-ray done to find out the injury you have suffered. Avoid bearing any weight on the leg.
Do consult an orthopedician or go to an ER and at least get an X-ray done.
I hope this answers your query.
