Vaginal yeast, Hives, Bladder infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
There are 3 things going on. I'll address them individually.
1. Hives: For hives, you can take an antihistamine until the hives clear. Options are:
Benadryl 50 mg every 4 - 6 hours
OR
Zyrtec 10 mg, take twice a day
Not both. Choose one or the other.
Both of these antihistamines are available without a prescription at any drug store.
If your hives get worse or the antihistamine does not help enough, you may need to go to dr. (your own doctor or urgent care clinic or ER) for further treatment such as corticosteroids, which are by prescription. Go to the ER if you have swelling of the tongue or can't swallow or difficulty breathing.
At some time in the future, you may want to see an allergist to figure out what set this off - if it is cane sugar, beet sugar, or an artificial sugar. Or something else.
2. The vaginal itching and white cottage cheese is a yeast infection or yeast overgrowth (Candida): Treatment is an anti yeast cream that you can buy at the drug store, such as Monistat, and put in the vagina according to directions on the box.
3. Possible bladder infection: If you have no fever or nausea, you can try to treat this by drinking a lot of cranberry juice and a lot of water. Get a bottle of cranberry juice concentrate and mix this with water or unsweetened apple juice. It will be quite tart. If this doesn't help, then go to dr. or urgent care clinic and give a urine specimen and they will probably give you a prescription for an antibiotic. If you take the antibiotic, also take a "probiotic" (the drug store pharmacist can recommend one) but not within an hour or two of taking the antibiotic. The probiotic will help keep you from having further yeast overgrowth or diarrhea from the antibiotic.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide clarification.
Most likely are separate problems
Detailed Answer:
I don't think the bladder infection is causing hives. I think they are separate problems.
The two problems that may be related are the vaginal yeast and bladder symptoms, but they are probably separate.
It's possible this is related.
Detailed Answer:
Often we don't know what causes hives or chronic urticaria, but an ongoing viral infection like Hepatitis may increase the likelihood. So do continue the Zyrtec.
Nose bleeds
Detailed Answer:
Hello -
Once a week on an ongoing basis is frequent for nose bleeds. He should have this checked out by a doctor, preferably an Ear Nose Throat (ENT) doctor. Frequent nose bleeds can be from a blood clotting disorder or from a disorder of blood vessels in the nose. Since it followed having been kicked in the nose, there may be a structural problem in his nose now.
Your welcome!
