![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: what could be happening? I was awakened with hot feeling on my skin. Redness all over as well.
Brief Answer:
HOT FLUSHES in menopause
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query,
This hot feeling over the skin is probably hot flushes which can leave you awake and can cause sudden feeling of warmth and hot for say 3-5 minutes before it tides down. This is common in menopausal stage and indicative of oestrogen depletion.
if the hot flushes are persistent and frequency in a day is higher then you may have to be placed on HRT .

I took Niatain before going to bed. Never had this reaction before.
What is HRT?
What is HRT?
Brief Answer:
answered
Detailed Answer:
HRT is hormone replacement therapy which is required in women of post menopausal age group whose ovaries have stopped working and there occurs deficiency of oestrogen hormone which can produce such hot flushes and symptoms...
Niatain is a niacin supplement and don't help in reducing such symptoms.
If HRT IS NOT DESIRED , then veggies like that of brassica family like cabbage, cauliflower, turnip should be incorporated in diet , these have natural oestrogen's which can help reduce symptoms but if uncontrollable then HRT would have to be started.
you may discuss the options with your physician in detail,
regards
