Question: hi I'm 53 years old and had a parcel hyst. still have my oviers I have hot flashes , night sweats, hurt all over dryness, low sex drive, tired all the time my Dr put me on Premarin 0.3 mg I was wondering if Prempro would be better for me I do smoke a pack a day I just don't feel any better been on Premarin for about 3 weeks Dr also told me to take a baby asprin one a day Dr also put me on Zoloft for depression been on that for a bout 3 months not sure if that is helping me or not . any information greatly appreciated thank you

If the antidepressant medication is not helpful then it's better that you contact your physician and take a more effective medication for the same. Also regular therapy sessions can work well for depression along with the medicine.
You should continue Premarin as advised by your Gynaecologist at least for 3 months before changing, the initial few weeks are troublesome and you need to give it time to settle down.
Moreover the post hysterectomy phase can itself delay treatment of depression.
