What Causes Icy Cold Sensation From Tailbone To Toes?
Question: Since yesterday I've had this icy cold sensation going from my tailbone to my toes. But they don't actually feel cold to the touch. I told my chiropractor today and he doesn't think it my nerves. I have Hoshimoto's Disease and diagnosed with thyroid cancer, very small that they are watching.
Brief Answer:
Need to be investigated
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
The problem you have could either be due to disturbance in circulation or due to nerve dysfunction.
I suggest you to observe the same for a week or so. If the sensation do not come down then you may need to get investigations to rule out above two causes.
You may have to get a Doppler scan which will help to ascertain that circulation is good. If the circulation appears to be good then you may have to get an MRI of the lower back to rule out any nerve impingement or compression.
You may have to consult a neurologist for the same.
Wish you good health.

Thank you. I've called my brother in law, he's a neurosurgeon and he said he doesn't have a clue. He said that people having chemo complain about that but that's it. I will call him and ask about the Doppler or MRI.
