
What Causes Inability To Swallow Food While Eating?

Question: Unable to eat or drink without it going straght through me. Has been about 4 days now

Thanks for getting back with the details. I am sorry for the short day in the response, I just got back from the hospital
If there is no cough or pain while swallowing but you are still unable to swallow then most likely one of the nerve supplying the muscles that help in swallowing must by impaired. Here is what you should do
1. Try swallowing clear liquids first
2. if you are unable to swallow even clear liquids do not attempt swallowing solids
3. If you are able to swallow clear liquids I suggest you try semi solids like porridge next
4. if the symptoms does not improve in 2 to 3 days or worsens then approach an ent specialist immediately
