Brief Answer:
You need a couple of tests

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You seem to have what we term 'voiding LUTS - lower urinary tract symptoms'. the good news is that is extremely unlikely that you have any prostate issue like your father did at your age. however, it is quite useful to have a few tests done. these include
1) an ultrasound scan of your kidneys and bladder and prostate area with a full bladder and after you have finished voiding to estimate the residue
2) a Uroflowmetry, which is a very simple tests where you need to pass urine into a funnel shaped device which will have a small computer attached. If you have a curve that goes up like a mountain, it means you are fine, and if you have a flat curve, even after you have passed around 300 ml, then it means you could be having obstruction to the passage of urine.
depending on the results of these tests, we may be able to tell you if you need any medicines to help you pass urine fully.
Hope I have been able to help you.
Regards.
