What Causes Increase In The Triglyceride Levels After Taking Yaz Pills?

Question: Hi, I have yearly blood tests through a program where I work, and have always had the recommended numbers for HDL, LDL, BMI, Triglycerides, etc. A year ago I started taking Yaz birth control, and this year my Triglycerides were 184... after being under 150 for years. I exercise a lot, am 5'&" and 130 lbs, and eat well. From what I've read, teh Yaz is likely the culprit. Is this a dangerous level for my triglycerides, do I need to stop the birth control?
Thanks,

Brief Answer:
You don't have to stop taking the birth control pill.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
Yaz birth control pill may be responsible for the border line values of triglyceride levels. Although the values are slightly elevated you shouldn't worry about them because you don't have a dangerous level (only a border line levels).
You don't have to stop taking the birth control pill. The only recommendation is to increase physical activities and a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Wish you health!
