What Causes Increased Pain Under Collarbone In The Morning?
Question: I'm a 41 year-old male and I've had a dull, achy pain under my left collarbone and down to the middle of my left pectoral muscle for about two months. I notice it more in the morning, but it's there all day/night. I'm 5'8", about 200 lbs., slightly overweight (around the waist especially), and think I also may suffer from GERD. So I'm not sure if this is attributed to that, or if it's something else. My father, who is 64, recently had a quadruple bypass, so I'm nervous this could be heart-related. Any ideas?
Brief Answer:
It does not looks to be related to heart

Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Based on the symptoms you have it does not looks to be a heart related issue. To help you better please tell me -
1.Are you able to climb double storey building by stairs without breathlessness?
2.What makes the suffering worse/better like having meal?
Keeping in mind your family history and age,it is better to have cardiac check up done by having ECG,lipid profile.
Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks so much for your reply...
1.) I'm able to climb two-stories worth of stairs without too much breathlessness, although I've lead a pretty sedentary lifestyle for the past couple of years (haven't exercised much, etc.)
2.) I've noticed lately that I'm not able to eat as large a meal as I once was without having some discomfort (upset stomach, feeling like the food is coming up sometimes, etc.), and I have a lot of trouble sleeping on my stomach without feeling like I may involuntarily vomit.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are diagnostic of GERD
Detailed Answer:
Hello
You are welcome
I have gone through your reply carefully and they are suggestive of GERD and not related to heart. But it is must to have screening at your age by the simple test as suggested earlier.
You should have small meals frequently that is divide the 3 time meal a day to 6 times a day.A famous saying is -Have breakfast like a king, lunch like a XXXXXXX and dinner like a pauper.
The drug which help in GERD is pantoperazole along with domperidone (Cap.PanD).Get it prescribed from your local doctor.
Hope this suffices.
