What Causes Indentation On Back Of Head?
Question: I have a dent in the back of my head that I noticed when I was 13 it is 1/4 inch deep 1and1/2wide. it is in the middle of the top back part of my head.
It has never effected me but I have no idea how I got it I was not born with it and no one ever dropped me but I was hit on the back of the head alot when I was 7-14 just slaps for "being stupid"
my dad never hit me hard on the head but was violate a few times with my mom and threatened to beat my brother to death with a hammer but never hit me hard that I can remember.
so is the dent because of a hit or just a coincidence. And should I imform my doctor of it?

Brief Answer:
This is normal and presents no risk!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
This dent presents no threat to good health be it now or in future. There is no reason to get worried about this and talk less of seeking medical attention for this. It was most likely caused by deformation as you passed through the birth canal. The head of a child at birth is very soft and malleable and this is responsible for possible deformities.
In all, there is no reason to worry about this be it now or in future. Stay calm and relaxed about this.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
