Brief Answer:
Could be an old injury

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

An indentation without any signs of inflammation can most probably be due to old healed injuries.

Have you ever got injured at the mentioned spot ?

You may have to get an Xray to assess the indentation and to look for any pathological defects.

Normally, one can feel uneven surface when pressed through the anterior surface of the shin. Hope, that is what you are feeling.

No other injury to leg and nothing seems uneven about the surface. Very odd

Brief Answer:
X ray will help

Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

Get an xray of the part affected. This will for sure give a clue into what it is and how bad it is. Do not delay.

Wish you good health.
