What Causes Indentation On My Lower Leg?
Question: I do not have leg pain, however, I noticed that there is this indentation on my lower leg say 4 inches above my ankle on the side shin, no swelling what would the cause be for this, it is kind of alarming?
Brief Answer:
Could be an old injury
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
An indentation without any signs of inflammation can most probably be due to old healed injuries.
Have you ever got injured at the mentioned spot ?
You may have to get an Xray to assess the indentation and to look for any pathological defects.
Normally, one can feel uneven surface when pressed through the anterior surface of the shin. Hope, that is what you are feeling.

No other injury to leg and nothing seems uneven about the surface. Very odd

Get an xray of the part affected. This will for sure give a clue into what it is and how bad it is. Do not delay.
Wish you good health.
