What Causes Indigestion Along With Diarrhea?
Question: I have been having digestive issues all summer and was diagnosed yesterday with e-Coli infection. Is there anything I can do for the chronic diahrea that I'm experiencing? And is there anything I can do to rid my body of the e-Coli infection? Also I have a colonoscopy scheduled in a little over a week. Will they still do the colonoscopy with an e-coli infection?
Brief Answer:
E. coli infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking
There is no cure for E. coli ,It has to resolve itself. Antibiotics are not advised.
Patients should get plenty of rest and drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration.
Over-the-counter (OTC) medications for diarrhea are not recommended, as they can slow down the digestive system, undermining the body's ability to eliminate the toxins efficiently.
You can have the colonoscopy,
Regards
