I understand how disturbing it could be to continue having inflammation after surgery for cataract. This is a common complication of this type of surgery especially. However, you need not be too worried. It takes for a few months to about six months in some persons for this inflammation to completely fade away.
It is advisable, in case it is too much, to use short term applications of eye anti inflammatory drugs. Indomethacine eye drops, sold over the counter and some steroid eye drops can be used for short terms. It advisable to see your doctor to access the intensity, modify the dosage and duration of this treatment.
Persistent inflammation at times could be due to another conditions. Some rare infections in the surgical procedure could cause inflammation that might warrant use of antibiotics. Presence or absence of discharge with the inflammation is important. Other symptoms like failure to improve vision, or aggravation of vision are important to notify your doctor. This could indicate failure of the surgical procedure.
In case the inflammation is present, but decreasing in intensity, with no pain nor eye discharge, you need not be worried. If not , I would advice to see your doctor. However, red eyes are not rare after cataract surgery, but diminish with time at different speeds in different persons. In six months, it usually fades away.

How long can I use these prescription steroid eye drops. Have been using them since October, 2014.

You could use again for one more month. IN case everything remains the same, you might have to see your doctor. The dosage can be changed, the drug changed or a proper investigation carried out.
Using it for more than 5 to 6 months is not advisable. If you think nothing has been changing since you started using it, you should see your doctor immediately. If you have noticed some little or slow change, continue for a further month.
