What Causes Inguinal Hernia And Groin Pain?
Question: I had an ultrasound done that showed an inguinal hernia. I do not have a bulge. I do have groin pain though. My Dr. is going to repair it openly with mesh and treat it as a sports hernia. I have read that mesh is not good with sports hernia. It this the right approach for the repair?
Brief Answer:
Mesh can effectively treat small hernias.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
A mesh is the normal way to surgically repair the hernia. A repair by mesh is durable and helps in proper healing. It can effectively repair the small hernias. Your surgeon is the best person to decide the best procedure for you. The groin pain is likely to subside after the surgery. No need to worry. It is best to follow your surgeon's advice.
I hope this answers your query.
