What Causes Inter Menstrual Bleeding And Pain After Urination?

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Jul 2014
Question: I began to bleed yesterday and there was slight pain after I pee. At first I thought it was my period but when I looked at the calendar, my period will not be do until next week. When I wiped there was gooey discharge when there is a period. The blood is not flowing like a period. I only notice the bloody discharge only after I wipe. Today the pain got stronger after I pee. Its a sharp pain like I am being stabbed with an object.

Brief Answer:
Please exclude urinary infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us.

The possibilities as per your history are-
---urinary tract disturbances like urethritis, cystitis or sometimes, a calculus.
--hormonal imbalance leading to breakthrough bleed
-if you are sexually active, early implantation bleed consequent to a pregnancy.

So, I would ask you to see a specialist and get a physical exam, get a urinalysis and a pelvic sonogram along with blood counts. Urinary tract involvement, if present, should be rectified and this should cure your symptoms.

In the absence of urinary tract involvement and pregnancy, hormone imbalance is the likely cause and further treatment should be planned on those lines. Please maintain genital hygiene.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
