Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Intermittent pain in rib cages and chest area are always worth assessment and ruling out of cardiac issues with an ekg and echo. I am sure they have done that as age of 36 is not that big a risk for cardiac problems.
Other causes of the chest pain may be acid reflux like GERD or musculoskeletal origin like fatigued muscle. Cough or recent chest infections also give such pain.
Last but not the least is anxiety which may mimic these symptoms and look like an organic pathology when all a person need to do is take some anxiolytics and get some psychotherapy sessions.
Your Worries about pancreatic cancer are not wise and unnecessary. I would humbly suggest to stop overwhelming yourself with something you don't have.
Modify diet and lifestyle, lose weight, follow a proper routine and sleep patterns and i ams ure these issues will resolve. I am afraid i have to agree with your doctor here as such presentation is very classic for anxiety.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
