What Causes Intermittent Mild Throbbing In Lower Right Abdomen?
Clinical evaluation is necessary.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood your problems.
To recapitulate: Female - 67 years - intermittent, mild throbbing in lower right abdomen- 5 days - weaned off Famotidine 3 weeks ago, and taken HCL and Pepsin, - no nausea or any other symptoms - feels better on standing up and when you hold the core muscles - thinking of muscle strain.
May I know please know a few points ?
Was there any history of any activity that could have caused the strain on muscles ?
I hope there is no alteration in the bowel habits or change in stools?
My thoughts:
I think you should have a clinical evaluation, physical examination by a Doctor. This will help on palpation of the affected area to find out whether this is a mild form of colitis / Muscle sprain / or something else.
I would request you also to go for the tests of the blood, urine and stool as well as ultrasonography. This will further help in differentiating the problems. If required an opinion of a General Surgeon / Gastroenterologist may be taken.
The treatment will obviously be on the clinical findings and / or the tests.
I hope this answer helps you to get an early diagnosis and proper treatment. Till then continue Famotidine.
