Brief Answer:
Use 5% amelaxanox oral paste to reduce pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. Numerous white sores, if not canker sores, could be due to infection.

2. As he is not immunocompromised, low possibility of fungal infection, specifically candida.

3. Most probably bacterial infection.

You can take -

a. Chlorhexidine mouth rinse - 2-3 times daily
b. 5% amelaxanox oral paste topical application - it reduces pain and eating food will be easier. Use any anesthetic oral gel to reduce pain. Diet is important along with adequate hydration.
c. Improvement in nutrition with multivitamin supplements to improve immunity is essential. Supplements, twice a day will be helpful.

It will take atleast two weeks for it to reduce. Until, then continue treatment.

If images are sent, I could be more helpful.

Hope it helps,
Any further queries, happy to help again.
