Brief Answer:
It seems like there is a Nerve compression problem.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
I suspect this pain is due to some Nerve entrapment or compression.
Sharp pains occurring every few minutes are suggestive of nerve compression.
I suggest you Consult a Neurologist who would be able to examine you and advice accordingly.
Osteoarthritis does not usually cause such pain specially in the thigh region. Arterial and venous diseases also do not lead to any such complaints.
I usually advice my patients Tab Pregabalin 75mg twice a day to help these kind of pains and also Cap Tramadol for the acute episodes.
Please do let me know if there are any other queries that I can address.
Take care,
Dr Rishi, New XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
