What Causes Intermittent Pain Under The Right Rib Cage?

Question: Hello,
I've been hurting off and on for about 6 months at least. It burns right below my rib cage in the center. Food gets 'caught' there and it feels like it comes all the way up my throat. Sometimes my body will do a purge if it gets too bad. This last purge was awful. Usually I get 'dry heaves' after 2 or 3 bathroom visits, but this time there was sooo much bile, bright yellow and burning. I threw up for about 7 hours and I never did get 'dry heaves'. I get diarrhea at the same time, like fire! Sometimes I think I feel a faint cramping in my lower left abdomen. Now, just the thought of food makes me ill and putting anything in my mouth makes me start gagging before I even chew. When this started, I would 'puke' so violently that I actually got a XXXXXXX horse in my abdomon, it was awful. Please tell me what to do.

Brief Answer:
Cholecystitis and gall bladder stones should be ruled out.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your symptoms matches for cholecystitis and gall bladder stones. So those should be ruled out. An ultrasound examination of abdomen will be helpful to rule out this.
Avoid fatty and spicy foods. Taking proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole ( Nexium ) daily before break fast will be helpful. You can also take antacid syrups containing anaesthetic like mucaine gel.
In case of gall stones surgical treatment should be considered.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
