What Causes Intermittent Sharp Pain On Middle Right Side And Breathing Difficulty?
Question: So I've been through a laparoscopic hysterectomy with ovaries taken out about 10 days ago. I'm doing pretty well except when yawn sometimes I get a sharp pain on my middle right side. It is not my chest. I don't have shortness of breath, no fever, and no heart racing. I do have some gas issues. So I'm thinking that's the problem.
Brief Answer:
Trapped carbon dioxide during laparoscopy
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your cocerns. Sharp pain in middle right side on yawning is likely due to the trapped carbon dioxide gas in the abdomen. This gas is used during laparoscopy and some of it gets trapped in the abdomen after the procedure causing such pain. It will slowly get absorbed in the body.
I suggest you not to worry.
