What Causes Intermittent Vaginal Bleeding After A Medical Abortion?
Question: I had a medical (non-surgical) abortion at 6 weeks and 4 days on the 23rd January. I still bleed occasionally but other than that I have no other symptoms. I stupidly had unprotected sex on Wednesday night, I am going on the pill on Monday. I got told to take a pregnancy test 3 weeks after. The test has come back positive, with one of the lines being quite faint. I have not had a period yet. I just wondered if this means I am pregnant? Or if it is just my HCG levels still altering from being pregnant and having the abortion? HELP!
Brief Answer:
nil chance of pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, I understand your anxiety related to the issue.
This faint line is due to the previous abortion and not due to fresh pregnancy.
Just go on pill as scheduled and waif for your periods there are negligible chances of pregnancy because usually there is no ovulation for at least 3 weeks after abortion.
But still you should not bleed now so it's better to get an ultrasound done so that we are sure that there is no remnant of previous pregnancy.

3 weeks

It usually take 3 weeks for ovulation to resume so no use of emergency pill before that.
