What Causes Involuntary Muscle Spasms In Left Ear?
please suggest y it happens
benign fasciculations or involuntary muscle spasms or twitching.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understand the concern.
I think you are likely to be having benign fasciculations or involuntary muscle spasms, or twitching.
Our head is covered by several muscles which extend behind the ears and neck and most of these are skeletal muscles and voluntary but some times, they may present with involuntary muscle spasms or twitching, feeling like nerve jumping as you described.
The precipitating factors are sleep deprivation, stress, illness, etc.
Also, here muscles undergo recurrent contraction and relaxation and usually they do NOT pose any serious health problems when there are no other associated symptoms,So there is NO need of medical attention at present.
You may wait for some time since these fasciculations usually get settled down by itself.
However,if these fasciculations or twitching persists longer and become troublesome, you might need to consult your doctor who can order few blood tests including thyroid function tests, serum electrolytes including serum calcium and potassium levels and serum B12 levels.
In case, the above tests come normal further testing can be done including - nerveconduction studies and electromyography, etc. These tests might help to diagnose any underlying neurological issues.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have more questions.

Should be ruled out.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again,
As I said earlier, if these twitching persists then it would be advisable to undergo thyroid tests to rule out any thyroid issue.
However, thyroid also accompanies some other clinical symptoms like menstrual problems in females, dry hair or skin, weight gain, fatigue, increased sensitivity to cold etc,if you have any of these symptoms then please share it.

I HAVE GIVEN BLOOD SAMPLE FOR TEST OF THYROID THOUGH. REPORTS ARE YET TO COME.
Wait for the reports.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome again,
You should wait for the reports until then take over the counter pain killer with muscle relaxnt combination (Dan-MR) if the twitching is painful.
Otherwise there is NO need to regarding twitchings since mostly they are benign and gets settled by itself as we discussed.
