What Causes Involuntary Wheezing Noise From Nose When Diagnosed With Flu?
Wheeze
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
The chest needs to be examined. Wheeze is a whistling high pitch sound made mostly in expiration though it can be in inspiration, too. It signifies respiratory tract narrowing or obstruction.
It can occur as part of bronchial asthma, or an exacerbation of asthma by LRTI(lower respiratory tract infection). If there is no fever, chills, shortness of breath and TLC, ESR , Chest x ray are normal then its unlikely to be related to a bacterial chest infection.
If the wheeze is severe associated with shortness of breath particularly at night or after exposure to a specific allergen and if there is difficulty in expiration then its more likely to be associated with asthma.
Mucinex , steam inhalation and terbutaline can be advised for symptomatic relief. For decision on antibiotics, inhaled bronchodilators and steroids, you would require a consultation with your doctor/ GP.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
