FOLLOW THE ADVICE AS BELOW.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Delayed and irregular period may be due to hormonal imbalance, mental stress, emotional upset, pelvic infection, irregular diet pattern, over weight, Poly Cystic Ovary, thyroid disturbance (Hypothyroid), high prolactin level etc.

Desired NORMAL value for serum TSH is 0.3 to 3 mIU/ L. But, her last TSH level is slightly higher than normal value. Thyroxine dose should be adjusted after consultation with her treating doctor.

Here, I suggest to undergo one pelvic ultrasound scan and complete hormone tests under the guidance of local GYNECOLOGIST. It will help to narrow down underlying causes and confirm the diagnosis. Take treatment according to that.

For successful pregnancy, period should be regularized with proper treatment. Both of you would take Vitamin and Folic acid supplements for 3 months. She would take Iodized salt with daily diet, do regular physical exercise to control body weight, avoid stress through regular meditation.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish her good health and take care yourself.

Regards,
Dr Soumen
