default
Posted on Thu, 3 Jul 2014
Question: My mentual cycle is not regular, it usually get delayed by 2-3 months and sometime by 5-6 months.

Every month during time of cycle, there would be severe stomach and body pain but no bleeding. And stomach pain stretchs up to 2 week and body get swells up due to no bleeding.

I went to many local doctor but they always give a clean sheat and say there is no problem. Due to uneven period i couldn't predict my actual time and due which doctor also cant get actual diagnosis.

please suggest me something.

Brief Answer:
hormone analysis and ultrasound to be done

Detailed Answer:
Dear member,
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
Your concerns are valid. Delayed cycles especially more than 2 months are due to some form of hormone imbalance.
For regular cycle to occur the brain secretes hormone called FSH AND LH. Both these act on your ovary to produce follicles every month.
These mature follicles produce estrogen and act on uterus. Thus imbalance in this system will cause delayed cycles.
Sometimes it can be due to thyroid problem also. Dont worry as diagnosis is not difficult.
Please do the following investigation and call back.
FSH, LH, PROLACTIN,T3,T4,TSH.
Ultrasound pelvis.
Please call back with the reports as I will be able to answer you better.
This problem is seen in many young women and can be treated successfully.
On an average I see 3-4 such patients per month in my clinic.please give details of height and weight along with reports next time
Thanks
