What Causes Irregular Menstruation And Cramps?

Question: I have had a regular period cycle throughout except for a few spells here and there of irregular periods.. For the past 6 months, my periods have been regular alongside unprotected sexual activity. I was due on the 7th of December for my periods and they have not come thus far. i took a HPT on the 12th of December with a negative result and still no periods yet. There could have been a possibility that I was ovulating later than expected because just yesterday, i experienced minor cramps which lasted a few minutes.. No cramps today at all.. no sign of any imminent discharges either.. is there a chance that I might be pregnant? When is it advisable to take the HPT again? (I use preganews)

I read your query and I understand your concerns about possibility of pregnancy..

Following is my reply:

1) There is no chanc of pregnancy looking at your cycles history and negative pregnancy test.

2) This is just a delayed cycle like before when you had irregular periods.

3) I suggest you wait for another week and you are likely to get your cycles.

4) Cramp you are feeling now appears to be premenstrual pain.

5) repea HPT only after 4 days if you wish.
