What Causes Irregular Menstruation And Difference In Menstruation Flow?

My girlfriend's sis(25yrs old) is having irregular periods.there is not a fixed time for her period.if it comes on 27th this month it may be on 13th(46days) on further next month..neither she is married nor had sex yet..one more thing to be noticed is that most of times her period finish in 1-2days or earlier.
It is safe??
Or something wrong with her..should she consult any doctor regarding this??
Kindly suggest!!
Need to investigate properly. Consult with doctor.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
You should know that period date may alter for 1 to 7 days normally due to mental stress, emotional upset, psychological factor, hormonal disturbance etc.
However, some other reasons of irregular period like pelvic infection, irregular diet pattern, over weight, Poly Cystic Ovary, thyroid disturbance (Hypothyroid), high prolactin level etc should be ruled out.
Here, I suggest to undergo one pelvic ultrasound scan and complete hormone tests under the guidance of local GYNECOLOGIST. It will help to confirm the diagnosis. Take treatment according to that.
Take healthy balanced diet, control body weight, avoid mental stress by yoga or meditation and maintain genital hygiene properly.
Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.
Wish her good health and take care yourself.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for follow up query.
I have already discussed the underlying causes in my earlier text. She needs to undergo above mentioned tests under the guidance of Gynecologist to confirm the diagnosis. It will be more worthwhile.
IRON supplement should be added along with healthy protein rich diet. Take more green vegetables and drink more water.
Hope, I have answered your query. Kindly, close the discussion.
All the best and good luck.
Regards,
