What Causes Irritating Itchy Rashes On Right Foot?
Need to reach or learn about established diagnosis
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I would first like to clear a few things and would greatly appreciate your kind response to the following:
+The location of the rash, whether it is on the top surface of the foot or on the sole region (plantar surface)?
+I would like to request an image of the affected region which you can attach to our discussion for my examination sir.
+Could you also share the diagnosis made by the doctor who had a chance to physically examine you before prescribing the numerous medications tried
With the current information, I have prepared a list of causes that could match the presentation described by you sir. You can use this for your reference when you next visit your doctor to make sure all other conditions have been ruled out before reaching the accurate diagnosis. They are:
+Dermatitis
+Diabetes
+Eczema
+Venous insufficiency
+Psoriasis
+Sexually transmitted infections
+Hand foot mouth disease
+Erythema nodosum
+Tinea
+Melanoma
and a few others.
I hope you understand why I am fixating so much on the possible cause/diagnosis. This is because rapid and effective treatment is only possible if we know what we are treating. Blind therapy and providing a wrong course of treatment will really not help, which could possibly be the reason why you have not found any relief.
I look forward to hearing from you in order to help you further sir. Please also feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, or with any further information that can prove to be helpful.
Best wishes.
My sincere apologies, you must hear me out
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.
I am sorry if I have offended you in any manner, a doctor only wishes to best understand the condition of the patient in order to rule out any mistakes and allow room for an accurate diagnosis and in turn treatment.
Based on the information you have provided sir, I have the following recommendation sir:
+Topical cream tacrolimus (e.g. protopic) which will help to alleviate your immune system and promote repair of your skin
+Oral benadryl that will help suppress the itching and in turn prevent worsening of your rash
+Topical steroid cream (e.g. hydrocortisone cream)
+Relaxation techniques: Believe it or not stress can alleviate your rash and so you need to avoid stress completely
+Keep the region clean and dry
+Topical antibiotic creams: Not necessarily because this could be a bacterial infection, but because this could also get complicated by a secondary bacterial infection
+Strictly avoid itching or scratching the region
+Phototherapy or light therapy (UVA therapy) have also found to be greatly helpful
I once again urge you to forgive me if at all I have offended you in my previous response. Our job demands us to learn as much as possible about the condition and only then prescribe treatment, and out of habit I have done the same. I hope you understand.
I hope you find my response helpful sir. Please write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help sir.
Best wishes sir.
They are both available in one strength
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again.
Well you will just have to try hard to avoid scratching it. As for the prescription strength for both the topical applicants, there is no different dosage. They both come in only one fixed strength and should be used on a clean and dry surface of the skin that is affected.
Proptopic can be applied once in the morning and the hydrocortisone cream can be used once at noon or at night. I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.
Best wishes.
Unfortunately that will not be possible
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.
It is not possible to provide you with a prescription through an online consultation, I am sorry for the same. But it is part of the FDA rules, and all medical councils around the world sir.
Our online policy is to provide patients guidance and advise, unfortunately no online medical service has gained the approval to prescribe online.
Best wishes sir.
You should not require a prescription for these sir
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.
Please do not misunderstand, by providing you with information on the names of the medications you can use, it is the closest we can get to prescribing you medications through an online consultation.
I do not feel you should have a problem to get your hands on any of the above mentioned medications from a pharmacy, including protopic or any other brand containing the same ingredients (i.e. tacrolimus). Please do visit a pharmacy and get the prescribed medications sir as the medications I have mentioned are all OTC (over-the-counter) and should not be difficult to get your hands on.
Wishing you lots of luck and a speedy recovery.
