What Causes Irritation And Itching Sensation In Penis Head?
Question: Hi there,
Over the past 4 days i have been having some sort of irritation on my penis head. It started of as the tip feeling very sensitive and a bit painful then the next day it appears swollen and itchy along with a foul odor down there. the third day my under garments get stuck to the head. I started to apply candid-b cream (clotrimazole-betamethasone). The itchy feeling went away and so did the swelling however My peehole has been burning everytime i pee and also sticks close needing me to open it up and then wait for sometime and then pee to not cause much irritation. I only see a clear pre-cum kind of sticky discharge when i try to open the pee hole or after urinating. I haven't been sexually active for a few months now and this is te first time this has happened. No other symptoms no fever or anything I however did have diarrhea before this issue occurred.

Brief Answer:
Can be balanoposthitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to balanoposthitis. Applying ointments with combination of antifungal like miconazole anti bacterial like neomycin and corticosteroids like beclamethasone will be helpful. If severe then oral antibiotics will be needed. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the area and instead you can use warm water or saline.
But if you have discomfort in urinating a urine routine examination should be done to rule out urinary tract infection.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

thanks doctor,
I decided to go and do a routine urine test this morning and had a hard time collecting about 25-30ml of urine the pain and burning sensation was terrible.
Also i noticed that the discharge is covering the head of the penis making the skin change color and seem raw and wet, also the skin tore a bit when i had an erection this morning. Also the pee hole keeps getting stuck closed a few mins after peeing will this go away as the infection clears out? And should i still use the ointment you said with a skin tear?

Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up query.
If that severe then systemic antibiotics will be needed. You can approach your GP or general surgeon for this. If there is discharge from inside urethral hole then problems like, gonorrhoea and chlamydia should be ruled out by swab test.
In case of severe adhesions it is better to have antibiotic shots initially followed by oral antibiotics. If it is possible to put the local ointment then you'll can apply. This will help to clear up infection and adhesions if minimal.
Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks

Urine routine doesn't show any signs of urinary tract infection. So your problem could be local infection related to balanoposthitis. Use warm water or saline for washing the area. Avoid soaps and irritants.
Application of ointment i mentioned will be helpful for this. If you were my patient then i would recommend taking antibiotic azithromycin or ofloxacin orally for 5 days also. You can ask your GP for prescription of antibiotics.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
