I can understand your concern for irritation on your left lower labia minora. After reading your query it appears that your labial area is inflamed and secondarily infected. This is quite a common phenomenon where due to minor friction and trauma the skin gets inflamed and therefore the local bacteria enters into the skin leading to infection.

A course of antibiotic with pain killer tablets

Hello young lady,

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply and adding details to the query.

In view of present informations I make a probable diagnosis of ingrown hair forming a cyst. As it is present since couple of months and presently there is discharge as well as pressure or throbbing pain so it is probably secondarily infected.

At this stage it requires a course of antibiotic with pain killer tablets or may require drainage too. I suggest you to meet a dermatologist or gynecologist so that a proper course of action can be taken.

Till that time do not try to pinch, pop or squeeze the area. In my patients with such a problem I suggest to take a pain killer tablet as an immediate time being management. I prefer pain killers such as Ibuprofen or Diclofenac by mouth for two to three times in day after meals till a close physical examination is done by a doctor. Since ibuprofen is available over the counter, you can start of with it and plan to visit the doctor.
