What Causes Itching And Redness Around The Clitoris During Pregnancy?
Question: I am 35 weeks preganat. a week ago I started to feel a bit of a funny sensae.tion around my clitoris and the hood of clitoris. I looked at it witha small mirror and it looked a bit red. I did touch it a few times as it started to feel uncomfortable. than it started it itch. I did go to my gynaecologist and he said it looks red as I was scratching it. He gave me a steroid cream and said not to scratch. The cream helps a bit, but only if I wear loose clothing. I don't think i scratch, but sometimes touch the area down there as it iritates me. Is it ever going to get better. Please, advise.

Brief Answer:
This will get better
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply :
1) This itching is due to the minor fungal infection that occurs around this time of late pregnancy.
2) Try to wash the area twice with warm water and dry it. Apply cream after drying.
3) This will help to reduce itching soon in a week. Don't scratch meanwhile.
let me know if you need anymore help.
Regards

Shall I continue with steroid cream or any other cream? I applied a bit of steroid cream in the morning. Then I woshed down there in the afternoon and applied a tiny bit. Could I overdosed?
Brief Answer:
Continue
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You may not have overdosed.
I suggest you wash, dry and then apply. I don't see any reason to worry. Continue with steroid cream.
If you don't find relief in next one week, change to antifungal cream like monistat.
Let me know if you need anymore help.

I have been using that steroid cream for a few days now. I always wash my hands after, but today i got a red kind of spot/rash underneath my nose and above my upper lip. Is it possible I did not wash my hands well after applying the cream and then touched that area with a bit of product? I also feel a bit of a stinging sensation around entrance of my nose. Pleasse, help. Shall I worry? How long would it take for the symptoms to go away?

Brief Answer:
Don't worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The lesions like red patch around nose and lips are nothing to do with the transmission of infection from clitoris.
This irritation and color change around nose is due to allergy to something. This is nothing serious and not related to clitoris in anyway.
Regards
Don't worry

But is it possible that I accidently put my steroid cream around that area if I haven't washed my hands properly? Is it possible that some cream could end up in my nose. I have a habit of picking my nose when Iam stressed. If yes, is it harmful or will it go away? Sorry, to be a pain about it.
Brief Answer:
Not harmful
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is possible that some cream might have entered the nose. But there is nothing wrong in it. It does not harm you. Don't worry about it.
