Brief Answer:
Possible causes of itch in the penis and testis area is discussed below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.
1. Recent onset itching in penis is a non specific symptom but in most people it occurs due to ring worm infection.

2. Ring worm infection is due to a fungus and occurs in moist regions like genitals including penis, scrotum, groins and thigh. This causes circular lesions with flaking of the skin.

3. Other causes of itching in the area can include scabies, pubic lice, any bacterial infection, allergy to any soap or chemicals used recently, tight inner clothes, allergy to latex condoms among others.

4. Please consult a doctor and get clinically examined to confirm your condition and take the required treatment.

5. Should there be any associated symptoms like rashes or discharge from penis then that is to be reported and might require further tests done.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Brief Answer:
Please take precautions and there is no need to worry if itch has stopped

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

1. If your itch has stopped without any treatment then it is good news.

2. It is possible that the itch was due to a mild allergy to any soap or chemical used by you to clean the genital region.

3. Please maintain genital hygiene and wash your genital region with warm water daily.

4. Always dry your genital region completely after taking a shower and do not wear wet clothes.

5. There is no need to get worried if the itch has stopped.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
