What Causes Itching In Vulva And Surrounding Skin Including Anal Itching?
Question: I have had itching in my vulvar and the surrounding skin. As well as anal itching. There is no redness or anything out of the ordinary other then a some swelling around the anus and perineum. It has lessoned recently. Mostly in the vulvar area. I have bee. Cleaning it with witch XXXXXXX and applecider vineger. Also a cotton ball with alchohal on the anak area brought the swelling down but isn't helping with the perineum. I am a 26 yr old female. I'm not on any medication. The itch started after some leather irritated the skin of my thighs and groin area. My legs are fine now and I haven't out the leather against my skin again. What could be causing this?
Brief Answer:
Use locally steroid based skin cream.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms are due to localized irritation caused by the leather.
I would advise that you should apply locally skin cream containing steroid like betamethasone and take an oral antihistamine like Fexofenadine 120 mg for relief.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Thanks.

would it last this long? the leather irritated my skin almost 3 months ago
Brief Answer:
3 month ago contact is unlikely the cause.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for providing more information. A 3 month old history of contact is unlikely to produce symptoms now.
It can be a localized skin infection and a fungal cause can be one of the reasons.
You can apply skin cream containing steroid like betamethasone along with an anti fungal like Miconazole and an antibiotic like Gentamycin. Keep the local area clean and dry.
If the symptoms persists, get yourself clinically examined by a Dermatologist.
I hope this answers your query. If you have any further doubts, please mention.
Thanks.
