What Causes Itching On Penis And Scrotum?
Question: I have very very itchy penis and scrotum and base of penis. penis is red and swollen and then flaky and flakes all the skin off of it every time I have intercourse. I can't finish because it itches too much. any type of heat makes it worse. Then I develop cracks that bleed horizontally around my penis and the base of my penis. when these crack are not bleeding then there oozing with clear liquid..... so much that my unwary get wet. I have taken many pictures. some of them magnified. also I seem to be breaking out in some type of rash around my groin area and on my inner thighs and stomach also. ive tried different fungicides lotions cortisone creams, hydrocortisone, cortizone 10 eczemacreams. and everything else you could buy over the counter nothing seems to help.

It would be very useful, if you could upload magnified clear images of the lesion.
From the description provided by you, It seems you are having candidial balanitis. It is the most common cause for genital infection in males.
Oral course of antifungal like fluconazole 150 mg once a week for 3 to 4 weeks will help in clearing the infection.
However, for instant relief of itching and pain you need to apply a steroid and antifungal cream like candid b. Apply this cream only for 8 to 10 days and then shift on plane antifungal cream like candid. This will help you to prevent recurrence.
Raised blood sugar levels is a common cause for yeast infection and I will advise you to check your blood sugar status.
Another important thing is to get treatment for your sexual partner as females are more susceptible for candidiasis.
Most of the creams which you have been applying contain steroids and this can lead to fungal infections and this is probably causing rash over scrotum and on thighs. Above mentioned treatment will probably help in clearing this infection also.
