What Causes Itching On Penis Tip?
Question: Hi Doctor ,
From the last 5 days I have started to get itching on the tip of my penis and found that the skin on the front part got tighten. I am pouring coconut oil on it with no success, I have tried applying Dettol thinking this could be some sort of infection. Can you please suggest me on this as this is very sensitive matter.
For your information from the last 12 days I am on antibiotics as hot water fall on my leg due to which I had burns on my leg. Do you think this could be a side effects of it.

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
From the description, it looks like you have developed a fungal infection of the penile region . Such a kind of skin infection is common in people on antibiotics due to some reason.
You should completely avoid application of any kind of oils or even dettol over the affected area.
You need to apply a topical antifungal cream like candid cream over the affected areas twice a day . Before application of the medicine , you should clean the affected areas with lukewarm saline water . After cleaning, you can slowly try and retract the skin as much as possible and then apply the medicine.
With regular treatment and maintenance of proper hygiene, the infection should heal in a week to ten days time.
