What Causes Itching On Waist And Back?
VariZIG, anti histamines ( desloratidine, levocetirizine )
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Varicella usually takes its time and is self limiting. Recent recommendations show that varicella-zoster immune globulin (VariZIG) can be given to reduce the severity of VZV infection within 8 to 10 days of the infection at maximum.
The itching is most likely not related to the varicella episode , it could be due to a local contact dermatitis, urticarial or eczema. You may take Desloratidine and levocetirizine 6 hours apart to see for improvement. Change your clothes and take a bath. Apply a lubricant eg petroleum jelly to the affected area. If the itching persists please consult your doctor to have a better look at it.
Adults at increased risk for complications can use the following regimen in consult with a doctor •Acyclovir 800 mg PO 5 times daily x 5-7 days
Antivirals decrease the duration of symptoms and the chances of postherpetic neuralgia, especially if initiated within 2 days of the onset of rash. Oral acyclovir may be prescribed in otherwise healthy patients who have typical cases.
